Thanked: 884You're lucky I was broke this week. I've watched that razor for a while now.
GOOD catch, ought to shave like a dream. I LOVE my FR's.
I'm glad it's got a new home where it will get put back to work.
ENJOY!!

The photo is from a weird low angle, but seems in good condition. You hone them just like any other razor, nothing special. Just a slight scything stroke due to the smile, or any other way you like to hone smiles.
You'll like it better when you get in in person though. the shank is quite humped and makes for a rather attractive looks combined with the swayback.
Quite nice and consistent shavers too - I'll take FR any day to W&B.

FR's are great shavers. I have two in rotation with a third currently out for restoration. I may have jumped on the W&B bandwagon, I won one from the bay(I swear I did not pay the ridiculous amounts they're currently going for) a few months ago and it is out for restoration as well, so I'll be curious to see how well I like once I get it back. Maybe it just me, but it seems FR's are all over the bay justing waiting to find homes. Hope you enjoy your FR, I know I do.

Wow! all these years i thought i was the only one not enthralled to WB... I've only had 3 that shaved well enough to keep and i only kept too of them.... give me a Reynolds, mappin, marsh, Rodgers or pretty much anything else form Sheffield and it will be better.
for the record this is the 6th time i have agreed with Bruno, it is a sad day... I'll have to find somebody a gift to cleanse my soul
enoy,

Thanks for all the feedback, guys! After two and a half years in this hobby (and two and a half rough years financially at that), I still only own 5 razors:
-that 1st Dovo Best 5/8"-still shaves like a champ.
-a Fili DT 12 I got for a good price here
-my Improved Eagle I got for a song, again here on the Classifieds
-a basic 5/8" Friodur
-and the Reynolds I'm waiting by the mailbox for!
But as I've learned so much from so many of you, and have perused countless thousands of razors here on our classifieds and elsewhere, I feel like I have developed a pretty good feel for razor values. So I bide my time and keep my eyes open (that's half the fun, right? Always looking for that awesome deal!), and ever so often, one just screams "BUY ME NOW!" I feel that I've gotten some great deals with that patient, frugal approach, and I hope to (gradually) own many more from many different countries. I may have to wait awhile with the inflated ones (Ducks, W&Bs, the Otto Deutsch Hans, Filarmonica EPBD's. and others I dream about).
