I Just Scored this Frederick Reynolds!
I just scored this Frederick Reynolds Swayback off the Bay for what seems like a great price; it was listed by coneyman1993. Anyone know him? A detailed inspection with the zoom feature showed it to be in very good shape! It will be my 1st Sheffield, and I can't wait to hone her up and get in on those legendary English shaves.
I might have a few questions about how to spruce it up a bit after I get it, but it doesn't look like it'll need much!

Looks like a frameback. Some spine wear however it should be a good shaver.

Thanked: 1936Yep, it's a faux framback. I've eyeballed several over the years, but they end up higher than I am willing to give. That razor should serve you very well.

Yeah, I love the looks/aesthetics of those humpback faux-framebacks. I was surprised I only had to bid $51 to get this one. I've seen similar Wade and Butcher and Joseph Rodgers blades go for a couple of hundred. Any idea on a rough date of manufacture for this one?

I thought that this type of grind was called a rattler(probably still faux frameback). Great razor by the way.

Nice one! I have been trying to get hold of a Frederick Reynolds for a while now and this one managed to pass me by. Good to know it is going to a home where it will be appreciated!

Thats a nice one. I saw that! I have one which honed up nicely and shaves wonderfully. I agree that the grind is not a "faux frameback". Enjoy!

Hep, good razors. Not as stiff as a regular frame back, but hones like one.

Wintchase-Any tips on honing one like this? I got to digging around and found that it does seem to be the Rattler grind, as Theseus suggested. The bevel looks a little wide, maybe a layer or two of tape?
Guys, please forgive my school-boy excitement. I should probably wait until I actually get the thing to start asking all these questions!
