This guy must be insane. No one in their right mind would spend 17 grand on that razor collection even in a good economy. The price should be like 1,750.

I wouldn't spend that (1750) but as others said upthread, those scales are something else and there is a market for them out there that the likes of us are a bit blind to. Judging by the fact that they've now been re-listed, maybe he is over-reaching but…

Here is the exchange that I had with the seller.

    Me:
    Dear billiardcues,

How are you basing the excessive price for this collection. Do you expect
to sell this collection in a so so economy. How many times will you have to relist it?

    Him:
    Dear captjohnarcher,

This is slightly less than we and many other razor collectors have in their exact same group of rare razors. Plus we spent thousands over the years searching for great items in order to be able to offer them to even those who simply sit at their computers and try to buy them cheaply, without investing the incredible amount of time and $ it takes to build a group like this. You obviously haven't given appropriate thought to what you're accusing us of. Can you sell us this exact group for less.
I didn't think so. And BTW - so so economies have absolutely no affect whatsoever on committed collectors.
Our price is more than fair.
