I don't think there's any rule here that says you can't use "str8" as an abbreviation for "straight".

As long as the original post is in the appropriate forum, and not against the forum rules then why criticize it?

Allowing persons with low post counts to advertise is maybe another issue.

Well, I figured the low post count/new member posting live auction links would have been the topic bashed in this thread. Turns out I was wrong.

What I do know about the the person behind the avatar is that he dealt with me quite well and on top of that he is a soldier serving his country. If there was anyone in the world I would cut a little slack to, it is to the public servants of my country.

I think there are better things to do than to pick on somebody because they use "text-speak."

Btw, as a long time lurker, it doesn't set well with me that an administrator on this forum (Bruno) would have bothered to pick this little fight. I think there are better things to do than to trot out the spelling Nazis, text-speak Nazis, etc. If Bokerblade fails to communicate that is his own fault. If Bruno thought he wanted to teach Bokerblade, then he should have contacted him in a PM and not have tried to publicly embarrass him.

Sir, I was in no way picking on Bokerblade at all. If you had read my post in its entirety, you would have noticed that I stated I felt some people were being hard on him. Please sir, before you pick on "my post", please ensure you understand what I was trying to convey; that I was only trying to illustrate that not everyone understands or appreciate that lingo. I personally didn't think it was an issue worth posting about. I was merely trying to shed light on why others may feel differently. As I said in my earlier post, I am in no position to judge. I have no place or desire to tear another down.

Wow. Maybe you are unaware of this little fact, but the administrators, developers, and moderators of this free forum donate countless hours of their time, unpayed mined you, to provide you with the best and most gentemanly forum around. Just something to think about.

Given that I am the administrator, it is not really appropriate to yell at me that I have no business reading your posts if I disagree with them.

There is no explicit rule to determine which acronyms are to be used. There is also not a rule against using exclamation marks.
However, a title like 'Check out my STR8TS!!!!' really looks out of place. Posting here is a form of communication.
Using exclamation marks and capital letters like that is like overexcited yelling.

However, at this moment that is not the biggest issue.
Yelling at staff is simply not done. With that, this thread closes and BokerBlade gets time to think.

Btw, it is irony that you yell at me, asking if I have nothing better to do with my life than spending time here looking after things. I and the other staff spend several hours per day, every single day, running this place, taking care of the software, solving problems and other things. If we wouldn't do that, there was no SRP for you to visit in the first place.
