Default I don't understand why my Le Grelot sold for so much.

Not that I'm complaining but it doesn't make any sense.

Le Grelot - Straight Razor | eBay

It sold for $170 and it wasn't a big blade nor was it shave ready. Any ideas why?.Name: $(KGrHqZ,!rgE+)wFpd)iBQHLTMZpjQ~~60_57.jpg

You didn't describe it as a "Monster Chopper" did you?

French is big now a days. As long as there is something that looks French on the blade it sells high even if it's 'La Merde'!

That is the postive thing about listing as
    a no reserve auction.
the guy who willing to pay the must
    gets the item.

I recognize that razor, that particular piece was custom made in collaboration by Pierre Thiers and Monsieur Grolet in 1899. It has been appraised at $30,000. Don't spend it all in one place ....

My best guess is because of the name Le Grelot, nothing more nothing less....

Great photo does it. Seriously it was listed the day two guys each wanted it one badly enough to pay $170.

    It must likely cause
    ebay just gets alot of
    people shopping for
    nice treasures.
You did do a good job on
    posting nice photos.
So i guess that gets people who are willing to bid higher.
cause they have a good idea of the condition.
