Selling this on eBay
OK,OK, so I really hate selling on eBay, but since I'm unable to post in our classifieds I'll be listing some items like this:
Becker-Otte "Bona Fide" Straight razor, 100% Shave-ready. 6/8 --Beautiful ! | eBay
I'd love for it to go to a SRP member. It's sweet.Last edited by stimpy52; 10-04-2012 at 02:05 AM. Reason: fix spacing

Thanked: 603OK, I'll bite. Why can't you post in the SRP Classifieds?

Selling this on eBay
Think you just posted it here. Looks like a very nice razor. Would you have taken less if you had posted here?

Complaining more often or louder isn't going to change anything. We know that the classifieds software has a problem, but fixing it will happen when it happens.
This is a volunteer supported site, and while there are people with plenty of time to restore and resell razors, those who posses the skills to fix the software and the willingness to do it all for free have far less time to put into it.
I don't know how many times we have to repeat that the mission and the purpose of this site is to help people who are interested in this hobby. We are not a no-fee marketplace. If the classifieds don't work for you, you can create your own storefront or use ebay, if you want to advertise to the members, apply for a vendor status and if granted you can post in the vendors section.
It is as simple as this. The classifieds section may be high priority for those who sell there all the time, but it is a very low priority for the mission of the site.

Every now and again I watch a young man update a tattoo shop website. He is using a Windows 7 machine and looking at the screen what he is doing is rocket science to me. Just as what worked on Windows 98 or XP won't necessarily work on Windows 7, the programs, such as the classifieds, the SRP Library and the review section don't work the way they used to with the V-bulletin program SRP runs on, if they work at all.
V-bulletin does updates just as Windows does. If the programs that make SRP what it is aren't updated along with it then things begin to act funny or maybe not work at all. So a volunteer ..... who we have to know well enough to trust ..... has to come in and be tech savvy enough to figure out how to make these things work. Like everyone who is on SRP 'staff' they volunteer their time and expertise.
So hats off to those people for being as generous with their time, energy and expertise as they are.

Whoa, whoa. I'm sorry, honest , I wan't trying to complain there, I really just people to know that I hadn't violated the rules, that I wasn't being disciplined, or on someone's craplist.
Look, if I could decipher computer software and fix code problems, I wouldn't be in the life-position I am right now. I appreciate the skills that others use, especially when they volunteer both time and expertise.
So...... if my mouth and fingers got out ahead of my brain and usual good nature -- I didn't mean to offend and -- believe me -- I didn't mean to antagonize anyone. Especially Gugi.

OK . . . everyone take a big breath, a long reign and a deep seat. As I see it, no one lost any skin, blood or teeth; a few hurt feelings among friends does happen.
As a not so great American once said, "Can't we all just get along?"
Think about this for a second . . . ready? Stimpy posted a photo of a razor he wants to sell outside of the forum, we all got to see how nice it was, and, I am sure many of us went to e-bay to look at the price. It sold. Did this forum loose any money, status, or prestige over the posting? I look at the classifieds on this forum daily as well as many other sources, I kind of viewed this post as just another avenue to find a great razor, perhaps I missed something.
Even though I wasn't offended, I accept your apology Stimpy . . . hope that helps everyone's feeling to get scabbed over, and we can all get back to trying to steal that once in a lifetime razor from one of our fellow SRP brothers.
Remember what my post script says guys . . .Any day on this side of the flowers is a good day!
