I'd have placed 'just' before 'gold'. If you look at it objectively gold is a rather useless metal to most people, the only thing it has going for it is being very heavy and quite shiny and inert, so it makes a nice paperweight or doorstopper that doesn't rust.

    Hey there,

I include insurance out of my own pocket. That's just because the insurance is a couple of dollars like $6 for $100 insurance. I would think that if you are paying over $100 for a razor you wouldn't mind paying a little more for insurance to make sure you get it. Ebay's ethics regarding how they deal with sellers are poor at best, and buyers can sometimes make it more difficult too.
I think the razor went for what you thought it was worth, personally I wouldn't pay that much for a Wade and Butcher, there are more reasonably priced razors that IMO shave better. I can get that some people collect them though and that can inflate price a little.
As for it not being a gold coin ... good observation lol. This has more history than most gold coins

    Thanks

    Carl.

My first instinct when he proposed insurance was fraud... I thought I was going to get taken for a ride, only because I have purchased many higher value items from ebay and never had a real issue with anything, nor have I heard of using insurance for an ebay purchase.
For a purchase outside ebay however, I would absolutely demand insurance buying or selling.

    Thanks,
    Eric.
