Thanked: 32Probably a good idea to repin it and add some decent thickness spacer washers. I am always hesitant to tighten up the pivot pins on razors with plated tangs as the scales usually end up wearing off the plating around the pivot very quickly when tightened.

You could try to tighten it a little by tapping carefully on the pin with a spoon, but my guess is that the pin is bent and then a repinning will be needed to fix it.
Lovely razor BTW, I just picked up a NOS Blackie and love the way it shavesNeed help or tutoring? Check out the .

Awesome razor. Can't help you with your problem but wish you luck on it! Sweet score.
I'm a sucker for a stamped tail. Giggity.

I probably will have it re-pinned at a later date. I'm just learning the honing process so I work on my eBay treasures and send out the ones I've spent more significant money on. The next time I send one out, I'll throw this one in with it and have it fixed. I'm looking forward to using it. It needs the works though when it comes to honing. There is no edge to speak of at all. It'll give me a project for this weekend.

C-MON, you gotta love this
Thank you. When I received it last week it did look like someone had worked on it. But with care. Aside from a little devil spit it wasn't abused. Thanks for the info because the name just didn't fit!

Thanked: 3164What a beaut - you are a lucky man!
I would check the scales by looking down on them with the blade closed - sometimes they bulge a little on the inlay side, pushing the wedge over a little bit. If that has happened, tightening the pivot pin may make it worse by throwing the blade over so that it actually hits one of the scales.
They don't all bulge, but I have seen an awful lot of scales with inlays on one scale that do - doesn't hurt to check1

Neil
