Thanked: 4942This one looked like a re-grind to me, not that it would have made any difference.
You guys looking to buy the old W&B's need to pay attention to those that have been restored and are nice looking and shiney, but come un-honed. The hone wear that is polished off will show up as soon as the razor hits the stone and there is usually significant wear that is uneven and not the same on both sides. You end up with a shiny razor with a ton of hone wear that is usually pretty tough to get shaving again. Sometimes you may see one that has been honed with a bunch of layer of tape as well to not show what has been polished over. Ask lots of questions before buying.
Have fun.

Regrind. At least it looks like it.
In this case the bevels look ok, but Lynn as a point. Not all restorers are equal. If the bevels were not ground properly but only shinied up, then they will shop up as soon as they hit the stones. And then you get big fat ugly bevels which take a ton of effort to put a decent edge on.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

sorry I didn't understand the question and what is the lesson again? Don't bid and don't win? Winning is for losers? WB"s are overrated? Cheetahs are endangered.

Well, easy to see how you might have gotten confused. The lesson: if something happens on Ebay that as a new user you don't understand, you bring your ignorance out into the open in the Auctions section to get some feedback from experienced straight razor users. I'm grateful for some of the members taking the time to give me some input. But you are entitled to read into it whatever you want.
