I know a fool and his money are soon parted, but how does a fool get money in the first place?
One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.

Nah. They're all good. According to the seller, there's only 4-5 that are cracked, but the rest are good to go.

I'm hoping that this craze ends soon, for our members sake! Although... there are a few ebay sellers that I've spoken with and get some incredible deals on very nice stuff... It's really amazing what a friendly message to the seller can do.

My first thought was: "Canada, eh?"

But the Dovo Bismarck can be bought from Fendrihan.com, for $192 Cdn.

Yes, that store's profit margins were large. Or they bought their stuff from Fendrihan (or someone else) for retail prices, and marked _those_ up.

I mostly watch the DD's and go looking for parts now and again. I can't believe parts are that expensive LOL. Maybe there are people out there that think they will just jump into the straight razor restoration business and get rich ? Throw 150 at parts and make 300 when done. Maybe desperate people out of work looking to make a buck ? Who knows but it does seem rather silly. I went through this with cowboy boots and hats, etc. Movie comes out and prices go out the roof. Never came down that much either.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I have found out today that Knifewear here in Calgary stocks a lot of shaving supplies. They have razors, kamisoris, soaps, creams, strops, scuttles, etc. Lots of good brands too, T&H, Trumpers, Taylors, Iwasaki, Dovo, Kent, Simpsons, etc. They are trying to open a store in Edmonton in the new year. Look for them.
