    Hi Iain,

I got one of these. It's not exactly small but the leather is really nice and thick. It's the only strop I've ever had so I've nothing to compare it with and I've only been using a straight for a couple of weeks so my advice might not be the best. There are other strops from the same company and they've got to be worth a look.

    cheers for all the input!
After the resounding conclusion that any old crap will do, I'll pick up a nice cheap job off th'Ebay.
    Many thanks!

Yeah and if the grain seems to heavy for you sand it down and then oil it a little. I have a cheap one I got in a very cheap kit and that is what I did to take the speed bumps out.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
