Thanked: 2Cheap Leather Strop... Anyone tried these?
I'm after a cheap strop to keep in my locker in work, and I came across these:
17.1/2" LONG LEATHER RAZOR STROP FOR STRAIGHT RAZORS - LEATHER BOTH SIDES | eBay
Just wondering if anyone's had any dealings with them? I don't expect it to be perfect for that price, but by the same token I don't have much cash to spare! (I'm sure we've all been there...)
Cheers,
Iain.

Just about anything will work. I've stropped on my Corduroy trousers while wearing them, very carefully of course.

If you're willing to spend alittle more money, Neil Miller (SRP member in the UK) makes great strops. He has replacement strops for the Valet Autostrop (whatever that is) but it appears it would work for you like a regular strop, only shorter. Since you want one for your locker, space is probably at a premium anyways, so this might work. Here's a link to Neil's website/strop page I am referring to:
Short Valet Autostrop Hand Made Replacement Shell Cordovan Leather Strop
Contact him through his website, or send him a PM here. Hope this helps and let us know what you decide.

I stropped on denim & newspaper before I got a leather strop. You would be surprised how much they help an edge.

Thanked: 1Hi Iain,
I got one of these. It's not exactly small but the leather is really nice and thick. It's the only strop I've ever had so I've nothing to compare it with and I've only been using a straight for a couple of weeks so my advice might not be the best. There are other strops from the same company and they've got to be worth a look.
