Even better is the guy selling one in pieces for $800!
My mom used to say that 'you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.' OTOH, one man's meat is another man's poison ...... as she also used to say.

Yep. My old house has window weights in the walls made from them. Granpa told me so. 22 windows in here. Sheetrock on top of wood slats. Bust out the sawzall!

If you have window wgts, that would be Plaster over slats, house would be 70+ yrs old
I know, have restored 3 of them.
Loved the wgts, could always gauge how strong and earthquake was by how they clanged

I didn't see it linked but it was mentioned... Anchor Razor GB Razor Wade Butcher Razor Vintage Straight Razor | eBay

For good measure. Funny how all these are coming up for sale now that the big one raked in so much, and the starting prices went up to match. Auction / collectible economies are so interesting. And proof in the pudding as to why we don't discuss prices or value here!

HA! I wondered as I typed if anyone would know what I referred to! Have you experienced the bar and rolling weight types? Window weights! The new collectible!

Yep. Used to live in a house with broken cables on the weights in some windows. Almost lost a finger to a falling window.

Yeah. We have sticks lying on the windowsills. Reckon those GB's have landed on the floorboards. Better cut down low to retrieve em!

Thanks every one for the info and having a good time with this auction. I am sorry that the end was so anitclimatic. However, I opted to go for the second razor. It does have more hone wear, but I really liked the fact that the markings were much clearer. Therefore, there might be fireworks still toward the end of the auction. On a side note, these things are starting to come out of the woodwork all of a sudden. One big sale and ........:-)
