Love it! All my blades are 5/8 or 6/8. I have never tried any Godzilla sized blade like, but it sure looks cool.

I like both oranges and apples. A varied diet is supposed to be good. That's why I go between McDonald's and Five Guys. Can't get stuck in a rut.

The cool factor aside, (am to old to be cool the biggins are also very practical IMO,They save time and they cut down tremendously on
W.S.E.C (water spout exposure cycles) if you are rinser as I am.
I actually believe the barbers of old, doing 20/30 shaves a day used bigger blades to speed things up.

At 6'3" and 240 pounds I have always been a proponent of bigger is better! (And cooler!!) Once the market crashes I will move in and pick up a few monster blades.

That may have been one reason, but I think another was because they figured more blade meant the razor would have more serviceable life in spite of wear from repeated honing.

Too bad there wasn't an internet with barber forums back in those days. Or at least journals that we could go to so we could really know what went on at Wade&Butcher, Joseph Rodgers, and in the minds of the barbers and individuals who shaved with straight razors throughout the centuries.

I can see both being valid reasons. We'll have to wait for Neil or Martin to post a reference to be sure

Mostly related, I came across this gif and found it strangely appropriate for the thread: http://i.imgur.com/x0HssOq.gif
