Thanked: 9first ever: snipe didn't go through
Well, I have been watching this razor for a week. My Grandfather had one similar to it so I was hoping to get it. What do you know, snipe didn't go through.
First time ever this has happened and exactly on the razor that would have sentimental value to me.
Life is funny like this. Bad karma, I guess. Could be worse.
Cheers

Sorry to hear that Ivo. I've never trusted those snipe programs so I did all of my sniping in person. It just really sucks that it had to fail you on such an item

Thanked: 9This is actually an opportunity for me practice not getting mad and remembering that stuff happens in life all the time. If I were doing the snipe in person, I could have lost Internet connection or something similar. There is always a chance of something going not the way one expects / wants.
It's not like I need more razors anyway
Cheers

Good point. And if there was one, there will be others. You may also wish to contact some of the members with larger collections and ask them if they have any.

Thanked: 346Increase your buffer time. you only need to be sufficiently close to the closing time that that some live bidder camping the auction doesn't have enough time to react to your snipe, so 10-15 secs is probably ok.

Tough break, I think I know the one you were looking at. There'll be others.

Thanked: 9Turns out the seller had another - NOS, which I already paid.
Sometimes things seem to work out... of course, now it can get lost or something, or I can cut myself silly with it
Cheers

Thanked: 9Tony,
It could fail if, say, their server slowed down or something like this. Yes, it is a program / service. I thought many people use them, but someone asked a question about them and there weren't too many replies so i guess I am wrong.
Cheers

Tony, sniping is putting in your bid in the last seconds of the auction whether you do it manually or by using a program.
