I hadn't noticed that. My 10/8 J Rodgers does not have "England", came with the original scales and coffin, and cost me a whopping $50.00, through an ebay Buy it Now, from a guy who happened to be local, and met with me at a Dunkin Donuts, where I paid cash. Offered me a cup of coffee but I passed. Said the razor was his grandfather's I never get tired of telling that.

    Hey Pixel,
As much as I love ivory, and domed washers I dont love that combination. The shape is great, but I have never seen an ivory scaled blade with giant domes, nor have I ever seen a giant blade with ivory scales..
    Craftsmanship yes, period correct no.
    Just my opinion of course!

I hope this doesnt turn out to be a double post.
What I meant was I have never seen an *original* or period correct ivory scaled blade with giant domes or a giant blade with ivory scales. Obviously I have seen that one

If the orig scales were horn, they would still be in place.Thet were hard warped rubber scales and I think orig.they had to go.

The scales on my big Rodgers are black rubber IIRC. Probably common for that large a blade in that period of time.
