Or the radio and tv "small print" you know the last few seconds where they fit in a short story sized list of people and parties involved in the add.

That is a very kindly offer. I think I might take you up on that. As for the strop, I opted for the leather only one you recommended in another thread. The description says it's not suited for beginners due to the draw, but I don't think I saw any other places selling strops that went so far as to rate it.

i believe straight razors designs sells more bridle leather than any other strop, its very very popular indeed. it is my understanding that Neil Miller means it will take say 60-100 laps to bring out the edge, improper stropping could well roll the edge by that time. watch the videos on here http://straightrazorpalace.com/strop...st-2012-a.html

for the first week or so i would say just do about 10-20 super slow light taught laps. as Glen says in the beginning your just trying not to damage anything, then you progress to improving the edge. if i hone it i will strop it on a kanayama 70000 for you which should be alright for a few shaves

I wouldn't worry about honing yet... If it took two years to get the strop in between the razor,,,, you still need a brush and soap, and mug... That's six more years...

Though the join date and post count is now making sense, at first I thought the forum might have gone bonkers
I wouldnt stress about getting expensive soap etc, boar brushes and Palmolive shave sticks are perfectly adequate. Sorry if you've already told us about what of this stuff you have, my memory isn't what it was.
Have a great Sunday, well in a few hours.
    Regards ed.

I feel confident in saying it's pretty much lost its edge. I tested it against my stubble and also against my arm hair, and unfortunately it barely managed a couple of hairs.
