Thanked: 1184If my soap is properly wet enough it rinses right off with a quick shot of water. If not I wipe it with a finger and keep going. If your saving water you should be able to use a cup full to shave. Or less. I always think of the days of cowboys and water had to be carried from a well in town. Bet they didn't use it for much more than making lather.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I'm with Gammaray. I rinse (edge down) whenever the blade gets loaded under hot water, then wipe on a dry towel and resume shaving. When finished I rinse the blade well, dry it and between the scales with a dry tissue, then strop 10 linen; 30 leather, before storing in my bedroom.

Rinse under cold water, wipe on towel I have on edge of bathroom sink, finish, rinse blade under hot water, towel dry, TP dry between the scales, put the razor in the metal stand by the slightly open window to air dry. Come back, another wipe, and just a couple of laps on the linen and leather to make sure it's completely dry.

To answer Siguy and Headcrowny, I'm of the school that if you're stropping correctly, it can't be overdone, and post shave stropping eliminates some of the stropping the next shave, when I pretty much repeat my post shave stropping 10/30.
