Thanked: 2Hey Ymir, I'm pretty new myself. Started this X-mas with a gift shavette set and have purchased a Dovo Straight and all the necessary accessories since. Your setup looks great (much better than my set, or most beginner sets that I've seen). You really seem to have done your research.
I'm not sure if you have any experience at all with straights, since you said you were a beginner, but I'd just chime in and say to really take it slow at the beginning. I myself am very patient and persistent, but maybe a little too over zealous at times. I dove right in and decided I was going to try full shaves right away. I ended up causing a lot of razor burn because I was not used to the proper angles, the skin stretching, and the proper pressure to use. Let me tell you, it takes a few days for razor rash like that to heal. So, take my advice and take it slow. You'll thank yourself in the long run.
