My nick name is Gonzo. Also crazy about straight razors, so then you get my user name Gonzo4str8rzrs.
I am very appreciative of all the knowledge and sharing each and everyone has provided me with. Look forward to future endeavors with many of you.

Thankfully, I don't have to worry about competition when it comes to my username.
Crouton is a name someone called me in the 2nd grade while in the lunch line at school. I was getting a salad and asked the lunch lady for croutons in my salad. The kid behind me suddenly starts laughing and blurts out "HAHAHAHAAA!!! Your name's crouton 'cuz your name's Creighton!!!" and everyone else began to laugh with him.
Not being one to shy away from a confrontation, and since the kid's last name was Beacon I kinda shrugged with a "I don't give a ****" attitude and retorted "Yeah? Well, now you and I can be best friends. Would you like that, Bacon bit?"
All the kids fell silent, fully expecting this kid, who was probably twice my size and known for being a bully, to drop his tray and gimme the ol' one-two. The silence hung for a split second before being shattered by all of the lunch ladies, who had overheard the entire exchange, as they began roaring laughter.
He got a red face and a taste of humility, I walked away with a free lunch, courtesy of the cashier.
Somehow, though, the nickname just kinda stuck.
The "976" part is actually a throwback/shoutout to a line of skate clothing made back in the mid to late 90's named "Nine 7 Sicks". When pagers were still prevalent, all of my friends had a 3-digit code they would use to let me know who was paging me, and I had one as well. Mine became "976" since it was my favorite clothing company and ever since, I've just kinda added it to all my usernames.

I thought I'd revive this thread. I've seen recently, after a little hiatus, a slew of new and interesting SRP Usernames.
Some are chosen as they have some personal meaning to the registrant. Some can have double meaning, etc. Some of them so "unique"(ridiculous), that it give me pause and leaves me wondering aloud the following:
1. Given the opportunity to use the Way Back machine, would you change your SRP Username??
2. What were you thinking when you chose your username?
kind regards,
Simon

I was thinking ease of remembering a single user name I could remember for multiple forums and online logins. So far so good for most of em.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Someone had already taken 'Lee' by the time I registered, so logically the only thing left to use was hoglahoo

IMO its a bit of fun.
I like the idea of it being related to your favourite " something". In my case film.
Blade Runner.
