Thanked: 433Even way back in the day, they made 7 day sets. In theory you used a different one each day of the week and only needed to hone them once per year. That being said, I have about a 25 day set! lol!

Thanked: 3215Multiple razors – why?
Silly question… Why not?
Reminds me, of the old saw… The Old Bull and the Young Bull looking down on the valley at the herd.
The Young bull, says “Hey let’s run down the hill and”…
“Let’s walk and do them all.”

In my younger days it used to be a rotation of as many pretty young women as I could accumulate. But in the words of blues singer Bo Carter, "My pencil won't write no more," so I accumulate pretty razors instead.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

YES! EXACTLY! I don't have too many at one time but I usually have more than I need since I only use 1 or 2. I try to sell off or give away the extras and take the money and reinvest in one that I think I might love. What ends up happening? I usually stick with my 1 or 2 and restore and sell the new one and keep looking. I like to restore and then sell them dirt cheap for newbs and in a few instances give them away. I don't endorse RAD or HAD unless I was selling to make a profit.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

All of the reasons mentioned are great excuses to tell my wife when I come home with more razors!
I like having them in rotation and part of the fun for me is "learning" the particular qualities of each different razor I own. All of them shave well, but no two seem to shave alike.

Thanked: 4As a NEWBIE with one shave under my strop, and one straight razor in my stand, I can say that I am planning to have at least three, in order to have one to use, and one as a back-up if I need to send one off to be honed. That said, it seems a bit problematic because many of the vendors seem to have a problem keeping any in stock. Praying REAL hard that this doesn't take off like my knife/fountain pen/firearm hobbies did...
