My current favorite razor was < $20 on eBay but it was the first I took from dull to shave ready with no assistance. It's a 5/8 ERN Crown and Sword with a Barber's notch.

I've been lucky. When I first started I found many very nice blades for cheap at antique stores. As of lately they have been dry. My favorite as of right now is a Joseph Elliot smiling wedge that I paid $15 dollars for.

My favorite use to be my John Barber stub tail, that I paid $8 for at an antique store. It has literally no hone wear on it at all. I was very lucky that day! I don't like to use it that often because I'd like to preserve it's condition.

That's a hard question. For those with many razors I'll bet many don't remember what they paid for them and then for those with older collections there's inflation you have to figure in and appreciation of some brands.

Last year when I was hitting eBay super hard I had my average down to $9-$12/Razor... A few Wedges I've paid closer to $40 for in the past. I've never owned a New SR... All have come from Classifieds here, eBay or Craigslist.

My Current Favorite was an eBay Razor that had a broken scale but was still Honable so I worked it up and shaved awhile before deciding to send it off to Glen/GSSixgun and decided on CF Scales, Center Pin and a Chartreuse Spacer (no idea why I have no pic of it?!)... Absolutely still in love with the Razor and has been the one I've used the longest by far. So, I probably paid less than $20 initially, put some of my own Work into it then later had the Full Restoration done and, all told, that puts me in the mid-range of $100-$200 with the price justification of having owned it/shaved with it plenty prior to deciding to put bigger money into it.
