Thanked: 1thank you nessmuck for the post and the contest, i might not have won, but it definitely brought me from creeping all the forums to at least beginning to post on them and spending a lot more time searching through the site while i awaited the results, i have definitley learned a lot, its good to not feel like you are the only one who has had the issues starting out that i did, especially starting out without a mentor, and just going off youtube, again thank you, and congratulations lifesShort, enjoy that blade

Thanked: 1Thank you, nessmuck, for a terrific PIF. I can't wait to give the razor a try. I know I have lots of reading and learning to do. I feel fortunate to have found such a supportive community here at SRP. I'll be sure to let everyone know how my first shave goes.

Thanked: 2Grats to LifesShort and again a massive thanks to nessmuck for a generous and enabling PIF. (ps don't tell SWMBO)
I have managed to acquire a vintage razor and beginner bench strop from gssixgun. I don't want to rush things so I think the straight will be relegated to the weekends when I have a bit more time. Eventually I hope to get the morning routine to be good enough to be able to use a straight most mornings. I travel several times a year (airline) for work so I might not be able to use a straight 100% but it would be nice to use one at home.
Thanks againLast edited by ruckin; 07-09-2014 at 04:06 AM.
