Default Which kind of point is best for shaving a cleft chin (a chin dimple)?

I am finally getting to the end of my search for a first straight razor.

I do; however, have one facial characteristic that may affect my decision. A cleft chin.

I have no idea if there is an ideal kind of point but I feel like it is a relevant inquiry. These chin dimples can be tough to shave.

Does anyone have any experience with this matter? If so, your input would be highly valued.

    Take care,
    Jason

I can't say that I have that, but I have nooks, crannies, hollows on my face and neck. I think the round point is the most friendly razor point for a beginner, and for difficult spots. For trimming around a goatee of something like that a French or Spanish point is efficent, but a round point is the safest.

I can get away with using square points and I have no cleft. I sure wouldn't try to get a square point down in one but the heel may work best . Maybe a Sheffield with a rounded toe ? OR like Jimmy said , best all round (point).
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

For a starter, it is difficult to beat a round point. Squares like to bite if you are not careful. A French point may get you the best of both worlds. Personally I would find a way of stretching the skin out so you are not shaving in divot.

Round. Round. Round. Repeated only because I need the character count to create a post.

+++1 on the round point especially starting out. As far as the cleft, grow a goatee

Thank you for your opinions. I think I know which direction to go.

Now it's time to pull the trigger which happens to be my wallet.

    Take care!

    Real dog,

I have a dent in my chin (dimple). I rather not dig it deeper either . The rounded point on the toe of my razor works perfectly to clean out the dent. Good luck!

    Best,

    Ed
