Great, you will find using a combination of techniques to get to problem areas of your face and neck as you fine tune you beard mapping.

I use the back of my finger against the grain, to find problem areas, and then experiment with techniques to shave those areas.

Remember you shave with about 1 inch of the blade at a time, you may be removing hair across 3 inches of blade, but you rarely are shaving the full 3 inches. Trying to do so is a good way to cut yourself.

The goal is a smooth, close, bloodless shave.
