If you can't find stuff locally ebay is a good source of stuff.
palmolive and omega cream are both nice, and really quite inexpensive.
omega and semogue boar brushes are both well regarded and also inexpensive.
As for soaps, there are lots, palmolive sticks are good, Arko is supposed to be good, VDH works well, and there are many others.
Of course you could spend more to get more luxurious items but these all work well at the lower end of the price scale.

Hmm...So far, the only products I've seen in stores are the white shaving foams, and the blue shaving gels (the kind I currently use). Is it possible to provide some photos? I don't think I'm overlooking any products in the stores, but I could be wrong.

These are the kinds of things you're looking for along with a shaving brush. Aerosol canned stuff doesn't really work as well: http://http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Shaving+soaps+and+creams
