Default Giesen & Forsthoff strop paste

Hi, just want some advice on the quality of Giesen & Forsthoff strop paste, I can get the white, green paste as well as the black, red block paste. the plan is to get some Balsa wood and place the paste on that and do some touch ups with my razors. the Giesen & Forsthoff is all that I can find locally.

Yeah same as the dovo stuff just a different name. The white is not a abrasive. From memory the green is equal to about 4k, the red to about 8k and the black about 12k. Think they are slow to use though. If just touching up the red and black would be fine. Good luck

The white in the tube that I have has about .1μ diamond and definitely is very abrasive! Yellow is for leather and the others are as listed above.

Is it different to the dovo paste then. I thought that the dovo one is chalk based and not really abrasive. But as I said above never heard of the Giesenn and Forsthoff stuff. I know the TI stuff is diamond paste is it similar to that.

All I have is the white tube given me by someone else. Origin is unknown. Nut, I twill darken a strop in very few laps.

From my reading chalk is a polishing agent but not really abrasive due to its softness. Be interesting to know what is the base in this one

Thanks guys, will buy and let you know how it is.

But i can still use them on the balsa wood, even the white paste if it is not abrasive.
