Excellent thread.
I too prefer to shave in the evening. Then I also get to go to bed smelling great. SWMBO is keen on that.
It's also a great way to wind down.
Keep us posted with your progress!

I've showered and shaved in the morning for 52 years. Recently, I've tried shaving in the evening so that I could get out the door earlier in the morning to catch up on paperwork in my office. It felt awkward, like trying to put my left sock or shoe on before my right one. Although no one would be able to tell the difference in my appearance, my face just doesn't feel the same. I like that freshly shaved, baby-butt feeling with newly applied aftershave and EdT, and it seems to help me start the my day. I guess I'm a creature of habit, but it seems to be one that I don't want to break.

Thanked: 1184I read this wondering about something my Grandfather used to say. " Old men shave in the morning. Young men shave at night."
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 1587I do neither. My shaving frequency is directly aligned to my beard growth. As in, I shave when my beard achieves an average length of 0.86mm. For me this occurs every 14.2 hours, so over the space of a month I'll do some morning shaves, some evening shaves, some lunchtime shaves, some midnight shaves etc.

Wow and I thought I over analyzed things. How do you take your facial hair measurement and not put excess pressure on the skin surface giving you a false positive reading? Do they make facial micrometers? 14.2 hours does that take in consideration for dietary and vitamin supplements which would vary the hair growth. Does your hair grow towards the water similar to the grass on the putting greens at the PGA course? What about daylight savings time that would mess everything up?
Thats awesome thanks for the chuckle.Your only as good as your last hone job.

I've been straight shaving for 9 or so months, got BBS everywhere except my neck unless I took a long time for a shave. Recently I bought a straight with a pronounced smile, and now get BBS on my neck quite easily and quickly... haven't attempted to hone the bastard yet though.
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice
