I have a Big 'Ol Goatee that goes down past my collarbones so I use a comb in non-razor hand to hold my beard up/away and then use the grip pictured from Center to Right in my right hand and from Center to Left in my left hand. I also do a standard pull with a normal grip but figured this to be the one to talk about as it is atypical... With one N->S Pull and one S->N Pull (.. both XTG for me..) I can get DFS easily using this grip for the S->N and it makes it really easy to sneak around along the jaw angle as well.
Doesn't that extended scale poke you in the chest starting out headed North?

Here are a couple pics of the best I can do for a "horizontal" pass mid neck. This is what works best for me as the grain on my neck is from my left to right in that area
