    I used a Naniwa lapping stone in the past. Used it for a long time and never lapped it. I didn't know it needed to be flattened. When I knew I never used it again. I bought a glass shelf at Ikea and 220 grit silicon carbide. I now use as much as one or even half a tea spoon silicon carbide with water and flatten all my hones on it. It works great and it's very fast. I use it for coticule, naniwa ss, c12k, nakayama, etc. Now my hones are as flat as possible.

    An example how to use silicon carbide:
    This guy uses silicon carbide with another powder. I don't know what it is, but this shows how you can flatten your stones with this method.
