Thanked: 1Not surprising, there was a lot of variation in the responses. From 14 minutes to and hour, but these may not include the same things. Some may not include stropping while some also do include a shower. Besides, this is a group of people who generally enjoy shaving. Of course you're not likely to rush.
I have no desire to rush, especially while learning the ways of straight razors. I was wondering if a fast shave was possible with a straight, for those days you need a morning shave but don't have an hour. Of course, I'm going to be taking a lot of time for my shaves for some time. And will mostly be shaving in the evenings. Besides, Big Spender, I don't want to risk a $500 fine!
Thanks!

The variation of before and after the shave is a very valid point. So tonight I did an experiment. How long do I actually spend with the razor on my face. I have a mustache and goatee so I just do my cheeks and neck. I didn't count stropping, lathering, and I never have used alum, maybe an aftershave once in a while.
Face lathered and first pass 26 seconds. Lathered again and second pass 25 seconds. Lathered again and third pass with a DE was 13 seconds.
Interesting to me. The actual act of shaving is very short it is the before and after that takes time.

Ok and now even faster with an absolute minimal investment in shaving crap.
Don't drink and shave!

Some day-to-day variables involved, but similar to below most days... 10-15 minutes.
