That may be true. Why not just stick with a shavette if that is what is working for you and save all the pain and frustration.

First i want to say thank's to all for your advices, after few days of thinking i decided to put straight shaving(real straight shaving, stropping) on the side. I'll keep my straight but i'm not just ready and i dont have the patient to maintain that edge. I decided to stick whit shavette and i'll probably invest in a feather or something similar. It's not that i discourage straight shaving it's just i was getting to the point that i was not having fun anymore. When i started DE shaving last november it was fun, when i started shavette shaving i found it fun to, but the real straight it was just to my opinion a fuss and the resuts more then frustrating. After thinking about it, for me it was non sense to continue that way. Time will tell if i ever start that again but for now i'm satisfied whit DE and shavette and i'm gone stick whit that. Thank's to all for all your good words and good advices. Gino

It is entirely possible, if not likely, that the razor is at fault. Yes, a real razor requires a lower angle than a shavette, but it should not be shredding your face.

I suggest you try a razor from another source. It does not have to be new, but it has to be properly honed. If you do so, then shave with it as is out of the box. Don't strop it and don't test it--just shave with it. Only that way are you guaranteed to be using the honer's edge.

The thing is if i use less angle no wiskers cut, if i use just a bit more i got irritation and razor burn whit still no wiskers cut. In that process there is a lot of pulling and tuging, your probably right about the shave ready razor but at this point i'm not interseted anymore to try. It's not that i'm a nervous person but i have to let my face heal before i do that. It took me 2 day's to let my face heal before i can use a DE or my shavette. Time will tell maybe in few weeks if i can find a straight i might test it. Gino

If down the road you decide to once again try this age old art of shaving with a straight razor that must be stropped and maintained, my offer of working on your razor N/C complete with the shipping offer will still stand.

I do believe that the razor is the culprit but only by testing/rehoning and testing agian will we ever know.

ANYWAY; We can ALL look on the bright side/as you aren't using disposables any more!

I guest the other razor i have needs to be honed, it went really well this morning and to be honnest i understand now what all traditional straight shavers meant by the post shave feeling for me this morning anyway it was really good, finaly.

Your Post just made my day!

Thank you for accepting the help of another member, as you said you now know what the Post Shaving Feeling is like.

It's a long strange trip, but well worth the journey.
