    Default Shipping blades alone?

    Dear gentlemen,

first of, I hope I chose the right section to post this.

Second, my grandparents gave me a couple of straight razors, unfortunately the scales are broken beyond repair and have been put aside.

So I decided I'm sending my blades in the mail to get scaled.

Now I was wondering, does anyone have any good ideas for shipping blades-only so they can't get damaged during the shipment, these razors are an inheritance to me and I would not want anything to happen to them, ie chips in the edge etc. yikes.

I'm just thinking about wrapping them real well in tissue paper and wrap that with these plastic sheets with air-bubbles in them, if you know what I mean.

Anyone that got ideas or experience shipping just blades? Input would be very appreciated!

    Kindest regards

    Tristan

To my opinion you should ask the question to the one who's gone scale them. To my opinion i dont see any problem but you better check to make sure.

Put them between two pieces cardboard and wrap in bubble wrap. Ship in cardboard box.

Since they are very important to you, you may want to consider a light coat of oil (mineral) and then in wax paper before finishing off with ideas posted above. Just a thought.

Wrap them in bubble wrap, place that in a paper towel tube, then wrap that and put it in a box.

I ship in cheap toothbrush holders. Wrap in tissue, shove it in the tube and go. They are about $1.

Good ideas gentlemen, thanks a bunch. I can put my mind at ease knowing that with the combination of given ideas I can safely ship the blades.
Thanks again, I appreciate the input!

Place in toothbrush holders with a little tissue paper to keep them from moving around in the toothbrush holder,,, then I would insert the toothbrush holder in one of these pool toys(cut to size),,, then place the pool toy holder in an oversize box, that is not easily placed into a thief's pocket. Then ship signature required.

Tooth brush tube if it fits and I would also tape that to a piece of cardboard the size of the box. I received a razor once and the box had a hole in corner of it just big enough for the razor to slide out. (rolled in bubble wrap) Why it didn't I don't know.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
