Thread: USB Microscope

Hi, some time ago some asked me what usb microscope would work for a MACbook, or any mac, and me not having a mac, decided to search high and low to see if I could find one that did and at a reasonable rate. why not, well, that way we ... well you have more money to spend on str8's
what I found is most or all the ones at the time of writing , on the bay where Windows drivers only. and since Mac has to be very close minded and keep a short list of hardware that they will support. I found one that will work for Windows, Mac, and LInux/Unix.

This looks interesting, I've also been considering a microscope cam.

good to hear , report back there seems to be a lot of interest by mac users for this hardware. if all else fails someone could try to to use the software and v4l driver from mac ports( its a software manager for those who are unfamiliar with mac ports)

I bought this one a little while ago and it also came with mac drivers. I think most of these scopes are more or less the same honestly. The only reason i picked this ones is I liked the platform it is fairly stable.

Could you perhaps post a sample image or two of a straight razor edge taken with this?

How long have you had it, and how do you like it? Most of the reviews seem to be schills--I would like to hear an honest opinion.

Ok here some sample pics. I cant say if this is better or worse than any other models out there as I have no comparison. This my only scope but i'm happy with it if that helps.

It's close, well lit and more or less in good focus. I'd be happy with that as well. Thanks for sharing the photos. I will for sure get this or similar when I am advancing in my hobby. I am still learning to shave & strop
