Hmm an extreme fix for a not so extreme problem. Looks like he took off way too much metal and used too much pressure on the power wheel. That Boker is rather flexible and has a bellied grind (extra hollow) he wore down into where the blade bellies out. Its not the end of the world but man he tore your razor up. Your going to have to re hone that mess probably with at least 2-3 layers of tape and keep the pressure on the light side as i said those blades flex easy and you can easily hone behind the edge if you strong arm it too much. which leads to more the same chasing the sharpness of the blade never getting there and wearing you razor away unnecessarily. I dont know what to say here other than, if you cant hone yourself right now please find a good razor honer / restorer check our classifieds or member list for a guy near you and get in contact with them and see what might be done. I think that razor could be fine with some TLC.
Just curious did you get that razor fix at Ganiveteria Roca? That is a very neat historical cutlery shop. Been to Barcelona a few times. Facinating city. Good LuckLast edited by Razorfaust; 10-02-2015 at 04:37 PM.

Thanked: 1No, my other SR Are fine, there were honed using stones.
No, it was not in gavineteria Roca it was in gavineteria Soto which is the other place in Barcelona that does this (very good reputation) so that is why i am speechless about what I am hearing regarding their work.
The honer of gavineteria Roca is my friend and believe it or not he said that the boker had a good edge after the power wheel treatment... Agresive approach but OK.... Confused here...

Sorry to tell you No its not a good job. Its like someone was honing a pile of steak knives and oh a razor happened to be in there. Razors are delicate they need mindful treatment. Maybe its a question of knife vs razor culture. But if I had a favorite knife treated as if someone was sharpening a lawnmower blade I would be very sad. I would personally send it for restoration work. Or live with how it shaves.

Thanked: 1I am really desapointed to hear this....this store is one of two reputable stores in Barcelona and if I can not trust them with this I better start honing.....at least the damage would be lesser if I mess up at the beginning ....

Not knowing the mailing issue, I'd hope you can find a member here in Europe to whom you could send your other razors when they need honing. Please do not take any others to that place. Maybe start a new thread that says help needed in Europe and see who pops up in response.
Just call me Harold

If finding a reputable honer is a problem, which I don't think it will be. I don't know of any honers in your country but if sending out to the UK or other neighboring countries is cost prohibitive, I would strongly encourage you to begin and learn to hone and maintain your own. Why? Because no one loves your razors more than you, and in the end its worth it. It will bring more enjoyment to your hobby, its not that hard, and just requires a bit of patience and attention. Plenty of great info is out there and good equipment. You'll thank me later.
