Mineral oil or renwax. Just make sure it's dry properly or you will seal moisture on the blade.

I got "razor oil" from Classic Shaving. I'm sure several places have it and it was five bucks. I don't actually know what's in it, but trust it's safe for razors, being razor oil and all.

I know this is an oldish thread, but for what it's worth thought I'd reply...

I used to rave about Eucalyptus oil for my blades, to both protect and also to 'sterilise' (it's a natural antiseptic). However, i haven't used anything on my razors now for a bout a year. All I do is dry the blade on a towel and store it in its case. I've haven't noticed any degregation at all; no spots, rust or anything.

Certainly I think using a protective oil is fine but in my recent experience it's actually not required...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
