Thread: Hello new guy checking in

Hello I have recently bought a Dovo straight razor (red bone #144?l), Dovo strop, soap, (col conk badger brush) brush and have started wet shaving again (though this time with the straight razor).
I found badger and blade and was directed to here and now registered here as well. I was shaving with my factory honed dovo and after learning some stuff here and at badger and blade has gone to DE until I get a hone and an old straight to practice my honing before going back to my dovo straight. Look forward to learning lots from evryone here.

Read through the library files, use the search feature on the forums and ask questions. You'll get a good education that way. If you want, contact someone who can hone that straight for you to shave ready condition. That way you can be using the straight while you learn to hone on a old, cheap straight razor.

I just bought some stuff toady on ebay, 3 barber stones and 3 straight razors. what is that saying...a fool and their money eh!
Nothing ventured nothing gained I guess. I now have some stuff to practise and learn on the very lest.
