some company's sell them as shave ready when in fact they aren't or at least need a touch up. unless someone else has had experience with them it's hard to tell except to take it for a test run. i would think if it tree tops arm hairs it might be good to go.(though it's not %100 way to test it.) if you try it out on your face you shouldn't feel any pain or severe tugging. don't strop it before using so you don't risk damaging the edge with inexperience. that way you know it wasn't you who hurt the edge and that it came that way (if it doesn't shave that is)
