Thread: A Question About Whipped Dog

I think you made a point about gambling on ebay. There's the difference of a razor there for $20 and the same razor, at least same brand/style here for $60.
Here the listing is for a shave ready, in good working condition and cleaned up properly. Nothing hidden from a newbie to SR shaving.
I have no input on Whipped Dog, since I don't know him or have dealt with the company. To each their own.........Look sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

Thanked: 55You can buy cleaned up razors on there for $60 as well. He also sells new razors. So basically, he sells what everyone else sells plus the cheaper options in question.

I started out with a Whipped Dog razor and strop. For the price I would recommend him to anyone starting out as it got me into straight razor shaving for a reasonable price. The razor wasn't the best looking but shaved wonderfully and the strop got quite a few nicks in it as i worked on my stropping technique. I have moved on to different razors and strops but kept the razor and just recently gave it to a friend to use while I work on his razor as his was not shave ready when he bought it.

So you would take 600 wet/dry and clean that razor up in 5 minutes and then charge me $15-20 more?? That's about $180/hour. Where is YOUR motives at hirlau? Hahaha.
No thanks! I would rather get a beautiful shave ready razor and spend the 5 minutes on it myself. Thanks but no thanks.What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

TBH, I always go by the old used car man's adage;
'For every ass, there's a seat'
I know that a QUALITY razor, devoid of it's original geometry, will not hone and shave within a mile of it's performance in it's proper configuration. Much experience has taught me this.
Yeah...it will shave. For you, perhaps. Not necessarily for me.
If guys would spend 4 times as much to buy quality, a benefit of 100 times is to be reaped.
