A strop I assume is essential, and as I will not want to hone the razor myself I don't need any stones. I assume that there is a post on this exact topic somewhere around here and I will attempt to find it! It would be helpful if someone who knew where it was located could point the way! I look forward to getting to know you gents better!

Brian, you know me better than I know myself it would seem! I can't wait to try my first straight!

Heheh... I'm just finding that it's a well worn path travelled by many others. The advice you'll find here is outstanding. You'll also find that many people post on SMF and B&B as well.

Over the years I've participated in a number of forae and there is something quite remarkable about the community around wet shaving.

If I can get one of my Wapienica's shave ready, I'd be happy to loan it to you. I'm getting closer with the honing, but it's just not there yet.

Thanks Ilija! I figured that out shortly after I posted my question! Man I must have had a case of temporary blindness! ! I will definitely buy one of his straps, and I was wondering should I just bite the bullet and buy a hanging and a paddle strop or just stick with the paddle as Tony suggests in the information page of his site? I have just received a PM from Josh and he is emailing me a picture for my perspective first straight razor! All I know is that it's a 5/8 full hollow! I am so excited!

Brian, I have noticed that as well. Many of the members are at all three forums! Man I do know what you are talking about when you say this is an amazing community! Great people with lots of patience and plenty of knowledge! I am so proud that I can add anything to it! Your offer is very generous and I may take you up on it sometime. Maybe at the meet up?

    Warmest regards, Niksa

Hello everybody! I was just wondering if this would be a good deal? I found this post over at SMF! It seems like one I just don't know. http://www.shavemyface.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19638 Thanks for any input you offer gents!

    Warmest regards, Niksa

I'd get both if I were you. A paddle is more difficult to handle and takes more strokes due to a small surface area. The deal seems great. Without better photos, I'd probably keep the imp and exchange the DOVO for a paddle. Add another $25 to the total expenses as chances are the razor will need to be honed or at least touched up.

Thanks again Ilija! The set went almost before I could PM the seller! Man things can go pretty quickly on these forums! When Tony comes back from vacation I will PM him to see what would be an appropriate starting point! Thanks for the info and please keep it coming!

    Warmest regards, Niksa
