Yeah, the times I was messing with the mustache and on some of the chin with the GD I was coming across the grain, but I have ZERO temptation to try shaving against the grain. ZERO.
Of course I want to get at it at some point, but after today's first shave with this razor, I would have no idea how many times I will have already shaved before that comes up into my mind.
I know I felt enough of a difference with this razor to be afraid to do some of the across the grain stuff I already did with the GD. At least for a while.
I think I got away with a few things those first four shaves. I felt the GD catch a few times, and I got a couple cuts, but THIS razor just feels like a whole different level of, "be careful"
I can't wait till the morning when I'll have some more whiskers. [emoji12]Mark ~

This is something that wasn't obvious to me in the beginning, but I found that if I'm moving the blade before the stroke, the risk of nicks/cuts is much, much lower. Static friction is your enemy! Also, I found that the easiest ATG strokes are done on my sideburn areas. It's flat and also easy to judge the angle of the razor there. It's also advantageous at this stage to learn to shave with both hands if you feel capable.
Pretty soon you will be slicing your strop(s) more than your face.--Mark
