    Cool Loving shave #3!

Although I'm too hard headed to be able to unopen pandora's box, and go to cheeks only, I didn't go too crazy.

I found some blood on the blade and found the little nick on the...I can't remember, but I think you guys have a name for the ridges on the mustache, but no bad disaster. Just a little nick. I tried to get a patch in between the chin cuts from yesterday which turned out okay. The throat is my tricky spot for some reason, and I didn't even touch it. I think my angle suffers a little there, and I need more muscle memory.

I love this kind of shaving though! I always hating shaving or was just indifferent to it, so this is very strange to have such a shift in thinking after so many years. It's kind of hard to wrap my head around looking forward to something I've never liked whatsoever, but always needed to do. The nice lather made with the brush vs shooting something out of a can is stellar feeling as well.

how do you think us old guys feel about the change,, I had been shaving almost 47 years before I started,, but with time its the way to go. from start to finish a 2 pass and clean up shave last about 10 minutes at most with cleaning my brush and wiping down the blade hope you stick with it, many don't because of the time needed to learn , but once learned ,( about a 100 shaves in ) you will find its all in the muscle memory, I shave mostly blind and don't nick myself so it will come just don't rush it Tc

I think I will stick with it. It's easy to do some of it (and some, not so much) so it was fun right away.

I'm a big kid at heart (only 46 anyway which is still a pup right?) and always thought straights looked SO cool.

    I think I'm addicted.

Jeepers you are quick TC. I am a little slower, and I think that just gives me an extra ten minutes of pleasure. I love the entire process and of course the result are the cleanest most comfortable shaves. The Gold Standard since 1876. It gets better as you get more practice. Hopefully you get less nicks and cuts too. Every now and then when I am not in the moment I give myself a little reminder. I would not change for anything. Glad to hear you journey is progressing and you are loving it.

I'm actually thinking of shaving again before work, because I found a new bowl to make lather in today at Goodwill.[emoji106]

I guarantee you I've never shaved twice in one day, so yeah. I think I kind of like it. If I do go shave again, I hope I don't aggravate my face.

It was only one with the grain pass, so sure...

Today was the first day that it felt smoother than when I use the cartridges. The first couple times it felt about the same, but a little messier.

In some places it felt almost like it does when I go against the grain with a cartridge. Definitely at least as good as when I go across the grain with a cartridge.

I was pretty surprised by that. I thought I would have to be going against the grain to feel smooth anywhere

It's good for us old guys to take on new challenges anyway. Stick with it and it will keep getting easier and better.

It may have to wait even longer. My wife's job unexpectedly is ending in August. Our reserve fund can replace her income for a couple years, but it's probably not the time to buy a new toy.
