Seriously though, I don't get much blood showing once I have the after shave on. Usually if I do nick myself the Alum stick is out and on while I finish up then when I do the wet pass it is cleaned up and no blood showing.

If you see spots of blood then I assume that either you are using too much pressure because of a dulling blade or there are microchips in your edge that are catching your skin.

You may try shaving before the shower in the morning. There are a few of us (Kyle at B&B, too) who get a more comfortable shave before showering. YMMV.
