Thanked: 0Introduction
Hello, I've been using a shavette the past two years. Just got a full size and weight. It's like another planet. I want to learn to make and keep these sharp. I'm looking at putting a meet together at my business location in Marysville, WA as quickly as possible. I am new at this but not new to learning; I want to learn by someone who knows, not someone that "think" they know.

Thanked: 4826Welcome to the forum.
Keeping your razor sharp starts with effective stropping. It looks super simple, but you would not be the first person in this thread to mess up an edge stropping. I wish I was closer. There are a lot of active members in your state and nearby. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Welcome. If you are close to Walla Walla you have cudarunner close by and one of the better ones among us. If you are near the northern Idaho state line you are near gssixgun, again one of the best among us. Either way, they can be reached by PM. Don't wait, they will be happy to help you and might even help and come to your meet.

Welcome to SRP, Obadiah! I'm across the state from you and just missed an opportunity to meet up with Roy (cudarunner) yesterday. He again suggested a Spokane meet was overdue and hoped to get some buy-in from Glen (gssixgun).
Meanwhile, search YouTube for gssixgun honing and stropping videos to get you started learning to master the concepts. Oh, and you should update your profile to specify your location for potential meet-ups. Go to Settings -> Edit Profile -> Location (towards bottom of screen).
Nice to have another WA member aboard. Cheers!Last edited by Speedster; 11-28-2018 at 04:30 PM. Reason: typo

Thanked: 13245You have an answer in your PM
Also, welcome to SRP
We do have a quite active PNW group, we were just discussing another SR Skills Meet we haven;t had one in a few years, I guess now we have to differentiate between "Skills" and "Sales" meets/conventions
I am very all in on a SR Skills meet, the latest talk was about Spokane but we can adjust to accommodate the most people
These have always worked best in the Spring and the Fall for most of us up here (ie I don't travel far in the dead of Winter)
I'll get up and actual Planning thread in the https://sharprazorpalace.com/get-togethers-meetings/ subforum soon and we can gauge interestLast edited by gssixgun; 11-28-2018 at 05:04 PM.
