Just Checking In
Hey dudes, feel like it's been forever since I've been around. It was a great summer up here in Western Mass. Good people, good food, and great shaves!! But with all that going on it's hard to stay active on here, as well as keep up on the line of razors waiting to be finished. Yet alone keep fresh edges on my others in rotation.
With the weather cooling down now and things settling down, I've had time to pull some things out to work on. In the drawer I have a an old Dorp&Voos razor, Dubl Duck Goldedge, and a Wonderedge. I plan on doing the Ducks just like the Satinedge I did, and having like a matching group of sorts. I'm gonna use different abalone to make them a little different. However I don't own any power tools, and shaping the scales, and getting the bolsters to fit snug is a bear on my hands so been putting those off.
That leaves the Dovo, gonna do translucent colored scales and polish up the blade good.

Already started sanding on her, wanna get the grind marks out and the majority of the pitting. Judging by how the sanding is going, the steel is really freaking hard. Started at 600 grit but was getting nowhere, so ended up dropping down to 400. I really want to have a mirror polish, and getting these scratch marks out is gonna be a PINTA!!!
For the scales, I'm gonna mimic the factory shape kinda. Flat tops with beveled edges. Also thinking about seeing if abalone would work with the colored scales. I wanna gold leaf everything now lol, so gonna do the stamps like the Satinedge also.
I put this in the beginner thread because I haven't been active. So if the mods think it belongs in the 'What are you working on' thread or something go ahead and move it for me. Love you guys, and even though I don't post much, I love this place, and could never of gotten to this point with out all of you!!!!
P.s.- If anyone knows the history of this razor, like when they were produced etc., please enlighten me!!

Hmm, I don't see them either and I don't see any attachments in the advanced editor of the post, which means there may have been some glitch. It seems to be working for other posts on the forum though.
I'd suggest to reinsert them - they're already uploaded so you could go to the advanced editor and when you scroll down there is 'manage attachments'.
