Welcome. The beginner's section has a lot of good information also. As Jerry (Gasman) said make sure you have a truly shave ready blade. The straight shaving part is enough to start off with. Learn that and stropping and your life will be much easier learning the other stuff. There's lots of material here on both. Don't be shy. We don't bite and are here to help
