Thanked: 1081Welcome!
Don't apologise, I've been playing this sport for about 10 years and still get it wrong now and again.
Make sure you read the library https://shavelibrary.com/
Pretty much all you need to know is in there.

Welcome to SRP. This way of shaving take time to learn. Also learning to strop is very important too. Be sure you get a real hand honed razor to learn to shave with as it will make a lot of difference and could be the reason for not continuing this way of shaving. And dont think about honing for the first year. Learn to shave and strop first. Read and ask questions. We are here for ya.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 556Welcome to SRP.
There is a lot of information buried in our fora that can often be hard to locate. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. One of the members will be along quickly to direct you to good information and/or offer expert advice.
We love photos of razors, so please include a pic with your posts if you can.David
