It all depends on my mood, or the time I have. I like both. IMO, the most important thing is that I enjoy the shave. Last night I enjoyed my straight razor. Tonight, I'll have to wait and see. It is all about having fun.

Tried a straight back in the '80s...it was well...ouch! From then on, Mach3, etc. (The Army frowns on bladed weapons in the barracks)....I got tired of the bumps, acne, ingrown hairs, and feeling like I was getting bent over every time I needed new blades. I started getting straight razor shaves in Asia, then in Phoenix, and finally here in Denver. After a while, I decided to go for it. I joined SRP and have not looked back...no ingrown hairs, no zits, smooth skin. I love the straights....plus, starting your day with a lethal weapon at your throat puts your whole day in perspective. As for DE...they have always looked like they would pinch...don't know why. Some of them on eBay look positively terrifying. I also am a knife nut, so a straight is more comfortable for me. Just my two cents.

As soon as I started I threw out the muck 3. but must admit that I kept a DE for those hurried shaves. Now I find that I can shave faster and do a better job with a straight so am now 100% straight.

100% straight. I burned the bridges long ago and have never looked back.

For the face - straights only.

For the pits, which I do sometimes - a single edge Heljestrand. Still needs to be honed and stropped so I don't consider it cheating Plus it's beautiful too

    Straights year-round, DE when travelling.

I used a DE to get me through a rough patch about a year ago, but now I find a straight is gentler on my skin and takes less time (fewer passes). I could probably get great shaves from a DE with some practice, but the straight's just too darn fun...

Strictly speaking, I use a straight to shave 100% of the time. However, if I find I'm too stressed when shaving, I typically do my chin with the M3. I'm still in the experimental stages of stretching my enormous amount of facial skin, and when I get stressed, I tend to overshave A LOT! But even then, that's just the tip of my chin. The burns, lips, jaws, and throat are 100% straight.

I'm still practicing on the back of my neck (the only reason I keep the M3 anyway).

Picked up my first straight about two years ago after nearly 30 years using an electric and six months with a M3. I am clean shaven no less than 6 days a week and have used nothing but a straight for just over 1 1/2 years (including while traveling and camping).

    Just another data point,
    Ed
