Thanked: 335Let's see. I guess I may have misunderstood as well. So you guys aren't giving away newbies? The indenture is dead?

Tony & Lynn...Damn fine gesture. How about just keeping a weather eye on the forums and if you see a newbie that seems genuine and deserving flick them a leg up...and no I'm not putting my hand up I'm a shaver not a collector so I only replace gear as I need too. I have 2 razors 2 brushes and a strop that I'm just about to replace with one from Tony and my old one is going to a good home. Once again well done. It's this type of post that made up my mind to join this forum and one other.

Thanked: 0Wow... decent of you folks to offer. Total newb here, but with the exception of a second razor, or stuff for learning to hone with, I've just purchased my kit already and am only waiting for it to arrive.
Definitely send stuff to someone new who's on a budget to help em get going, that would be cool.

Thanked: 4942Hi Guys,
One of the things that we have done since I started the first web site on Straight Razors is to try to make sure new guys who either couldn't afford or didn't know what to do to get started, got great guidance and when possible free honing and even a free razor or strop if one was available with the understanding that they would pass on the knowledge and the equipment when possible to another new person in need. This gesture has been imitated by every other forum out there and it is indeed a good thing.
The only problem we have ever had with this is that we have tried not to be authoritarian regarding the newbie and many seasoned members have participated just for the free razor or strop. I still feel it is the responsiblity of the person to decide whether to enter a give away of this nature or not.
Tony and I will find a couple of new people in need and make sure SRP helps them on this.
Thanks for your understanding guys.
