Thread: A Newbie Giveaway!

Lynn suggested a small portion of the latest raffle money go to purchase an Heirloom Strop for me to give away to a non-winner of the raffle. We talked it over a bit and wanted to help out a few newbies that need either a razor or strop AND had taken part in any of the three raffles that were held here.

So, if you need either a razor or a strop AND ALSO PURCHASED one or more tickets in any of the raffles....Lynn's Thiers Issard Raffle, Kees Thuringen Raffle or my Heirloom Strop Raffle, please post your name to this thread.

In a few days or a week we will do a little drawing from these newbies and give away 2 Heirloom Honey Brown Starter Strops and maybe a razor or two. Not sure if these will go as sets or split so they help the most guys. I'll let Lynn make that call as it is his donation of money purchasing the two strops. The razors may be a Wapi or two from Lynn or I may have a few Dubl Duks around here to donate.

Tony, may be you should see about making it sticky so that it doesn't get burried down.

I've got a beginner strop that syslight put together for me, so I am not sure I qualify as being in need of a strop (i'm just in need of an upgrade), but I did enter all raffles and if there are no newbie candidates w/o a a strop I will happily have my name in the hat for the heirloom and pass along my starter or give it back to Jim to reuse in his next newbie give away kit

And thanks Lynn for always looking out to help the newbies.

I'm in about the same boat. I have one of your "#4 Starter Strops", Tony, but would love the chance to win an Heirloom strop if you don't get any newbie entries in need of their first strop. And, like Gugi, if I were to win I'd be happy to donate my Starter strop to a fellow newbie in need. I would have never imagined I'd get to a point in my life where anything shaving related would be so appealing or so much fun.

Um, never mind. I saw the word Heirloom in the initial post and my eyes glazed over and missed the rest of the description.

Hey cant say i wouldnt mind. I just entered the world of straights and i just turned 20 years old. So im a young'n and it would be awesome if i had some fellow straighters help me along.

So far it looks like very few of or raffle contributors were newbies. Since Lynn is springing for these items I may ask him to redefine the criteria and see how he wants to handle this little giveaway.
